Since starting out only a few short years ago, Phoenix, Arizona native Jordan Carroll has already promoted himself with self-headlining tours around the globe. Spanning the West Coast of the United States and Canada, as well as some East Coasts stops in Philadelphia, and D.C. before going International. Performing in Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, London, Switzerland, Italy and France. After moving to Los Angeles to record his first EP at Foreword Studios in Beverly Hills, California, he then moved back to Arizona to write and release his first single, “Yours To Keep”. On September 1st, 2015 the he dropped “You Know That I Know”, a single with a whole new style and sound. Currently focused on writing and working in the studio, Jordan Carroll released his latest single “The Wind Will Blow Us Home” on November 18, 2018.

Jordan Carroll’s music is incredible. His songwriting and storytelling are superb. His songs transpose emotion into a sonic experience that pulls you in. You find yourself both sympathizing and empathizing with the feelings and experiences of Carroll and the personas he creates. It has always been that way, only now he has taken a right turn musically, and just got better by adding a ton of wistful poignancy to his artistic baggage.

The latest song, “The Wind Will Blow Us Home”, is built with Carroll’s voice and acoustic guitar as the centerpiece, but there is also other carefully picked instrumentation and beautiful strings. The arrangement truly defies a simple categorization. I suggest you just light some candles, pour a glass of red wine and find out for yourself.

The song sticks to your mind, body and spirit, if this track does not get to you, there is something seriously wrong with you. Jordan Carroll’s voice resonates with both emotive and tonal clarity. “The Wind Will Blow Us Home” is a stunning document of melodic eloquence that glides seamlessly from hushed ruminations to cinematic balladry.

Artistic without being pretentious, Carroll’s craft is anchored in melody and articulate arrangements, yet tests the listener’s honesty with dramatic turns that distinguish the record without abandoning its cerebral core. Lyrics soaked in such heart-on-sleeve honesty have the tendency to never come off contrived, while Carroll’s delivery is pure and sincere.

The character and chemistry he brings to the song, elevate Jordan Carroll’s passionate prose to poetry. However, Carroll’s voice is the true gift, a gentle instrument that simmers into a howl time and again. Three years since his previous release, “The Wind Will Blow Us Home” was well worth the wait, for within the singer-songwriter mold, Carroll shows significant talent.

The care that went into crafting each detail of the record is apparent from the outset. This song is also a reminder that even when Carroll sometimes uses the simplest of words, the poignant way he articulates them, leaves listeners feeling the weight of each syllable.

The delicacy and subtlety of this single, is something that will be a pleasure to music lovers. When’s the last time you put a new track on and felt like the speakers were grabbing hold of your ears and commanding you to listen? This music hits you upside the head every time. That’s very rare in modern music.
