Dramatized by D.Drama is far from what we are used to hearing in today’s heavily saturated FREE mixtape market. The Youngstown, Ohio native definitely flexes not only his lyrical chops and passion for the finer things, but the CEO of Kathouze Records also lets us get a glimpse of his production style and sound, as well as introduce us to his label roster, which is strong throughout.

Dramatized is a hard hitting mixtape that has something for just about everyone. After giving it a listen you will be sure listen it again and add 2 or 3 of the 18 tracks to your permanent playlist. Look for D.Drama’ s upcoming single “WHAT YOU WEARING feat Falo Gunz” and his upcoming album release “VIEW OF HEAVEN FROM A SEAT OF HELL” which will both be released by D.Drama’s own Kathouze Records and distributed by Arucca Flyboy.

Too much rap today is repetitive, narcissistic, inane and untruthful. Where is the edge? Where is the story telling? Where is the truth? Dramatized by D.Drama transcends all that. Age, race, socioeconomic class, you pick. It doesn’t get much better than this. Eighteen tracks with incredibly solid flows, amazing production, and a strange kind of synergy between all features that’s hard to explain. It really feels like all the featured artists are going to end up being one of those partnerships where something magic happens when they work together. The production is creative, innovative, and full of risks that pay off and most importantly, it feels like D.Drama’s voice and flow were specially engineered to fit these beats.

The music is deep, making commentary about materialism, stereotypes, freedom of choice, love, sex and many other current day issues that should be addressed in music. The music is also catchy enough for people to want to listen to, and advanced and complex enough to keep people listening rather than just being a party jam. The mixtape itself is spectacular, and you can see the effort D.Drama and crew put into the mixtape.

There are a number of tracks that I have found to be captivating, both in their musical construction and their lyrical content. I usually play through new albums slowly, listening to each track multiple times before moving on, and I can say that here you’ll find some tracks worthy of an album purchase all on their own. I have big hopes for D.Drama and would absolutely be looking out for any follow-up releases.

Sensitive ears are warned that at times D.Drama may be explicit and crude with his tongue, but this all forms part of his directly outspoken attitude. When a hip-hop artist can portray a solid story throughout an entire mixtape they get a thumbs-up from me. Dramatized by D.Drama has a good variety of beats and is overall a solid mixtape!
