We recently took a listen to the EP – MEMORIES by Edit & The Editor. It is a mix of fist-pumping tracks that will get your legs moving, heart pounding, and booty shaking. This Ep combines The Editor’s talent for mixing and producing genius house music beats, with Top 40 sounding melodies. These hybrid tracks follow a new movement in music, which was originally made famous by planetary superstar Dj, David Guetta – and has been sweeping the music charts worldwide.
The Editor masters the kind of electronic dance/pop song, you won’t want to over-analyse or over-study. These songs set out to make you do exactly what you want to do – Dance. Which is mind-blowing enough.
From the opening track “I Can’t Find My Way” The Editor lays in with some solid syncopated synth rhythms and refreshing breaks, which keep the song fast paced and intense right until the end, while a cool vocal melody floats all the way across the top.
“Come Home To Me” has a venomous kick drum beat, pumping under a groovy fat bass line. Ethereal vocal interludes, dress-up this progressive house track just right enough for a night at the club.
“Black Coffee” holds onto the same rhythmic theme as the previous track, with beautiful euphoric break downs that flatter a stomping beat! The track has all the elements a house tune should have and will no doubt be a dance-floor hit.
“Look Like A …… (S**t)” is another upbeat tune that gets the head nodding and makes you break out shamelessly. The cool, calm and smooth lyrics, contrast the busy funky musical approach, with both elements complementing each other perfectly.
Credit is due to The Editor (Vasil Ivanov), the Bulgarian mixing master from Sofia for trying to please the masses with this quick paced EP, that is aimed at satisfying a wide range of dancing audiences.
Unless your taste for music, sides with indie, metal or rock, it’s pretty hard to escape from the endearing musical sounds created by this talented artist and entrepreneur.
And if moving to the beat of house is your thing, don’t miss the EP – Memories now available on iTunes.
