Tha Committee is a rap duo hailing from the Steel City of Pittsburgh Pa. Both members of the committee (SBZ & Budda) have had similar life experience because they are not only group mates but also brothers and best friends. It’s this life long bond that comes through, whether Tha Committee are in the studio or on the stage, the talent, passion, chemistry and commitment is evident.

Their life long bond has allowed these talented brothers to develop a unique sound and style that cannot be duplicated. Fresh off the release of their first mixtape “The Terrible Towel Mixtape”, Tha Committee has inked a management deal with http://Bigshowbooking.com as well a music and video distribution deal with Arucca Flyboy. Tha Committee are currently out and about performing with upcoming dates in West Virginia,Alabama & NYC as well as working on their first full length album. In no time Tha Committee has seen their committed fan base grow by leaps and bounds!

Tha Committee has released a quality mixtape, and like any truly good mixtape or album, this one grows on you. It is like the good old days when rap was interesting and had some creative skills behind it instead of a bunch of over-hyped rappers bragging about how rich they are or how many cars they have. “The Terrible Towel Mixtape” has great songs, great beats, and most of all, catchy lyrics that have a nice flow to them.

While sprinkled with a heavy dose of expletives, this mixtape isn’t as vulgar or as offensive as most rap albums. Don’t get the wrong idea and think that these guys are “squeaky-clean” or anything like that. They have their fair share of profanities, but they just dish it out differently. What I mean is that the mixtape’s a lot more smoother than most rap albums, but while it is smoother it has a better and deeper structure to it than most. The songs do a great job of flowing and appealing to serious hiphop fans.

This is an excellent mixtape with some great songs. My favorites are “Party In The City”, “Bologna,” “One Thing,” “I Got Her,” “See U”,”Nasty “, “Looking Mad”, “Ask Me”, “Twisted”, “Greatness”, “Money” and “Mike Wallace”. While I enjoy the entire mixtape, those are my favorite songs. The mixtape also has a very high replay value.

“The Terrible Towel Mixtape” is able to achieve what many of the new rap albums and mixtapes today, fail to do. It’s a great listen with songs that are more than just bragging about “bling-bling” or that type of nonsense. If you’re like me and have been disappointed with many of the new rap acts, then pick up Tha Committee and take a trip together with a group of rap fans who are sick of today’s Puff Daddy inspired brand of Hip Hop!

This mixtape is happening baby. It kicks ass!
