For centuries, the forbidden fruit has stood as a symbol of temptation, transgression and the painful realization that some decisions do not merely alter a single moment, but entire lives. In mythology, religion and literature alike, it marks the point where curiosity, guilt, desire and self-destruction become inseparably intertwined. It is precisely within this tension that “The Forbidden Fruit”, the new EP by Danish band TINKICKER, unfolds.
With their new digital EP, set for release on March 27, 2026 via NRT-Records, TINKICKER from Copenhagen, Denmark deliver a work that explores toxic relationships, family conditioning, inner wounds and the lingering aftermath of emotional devastation. The release will also be available via Bandcamp as a digital download including bonus features. Each song received its own dedicated music video, premiering simultaneously with the EP.
On “The Forbidden Fruit”, TINKICKER combine the weight of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal with the narrative depth and structural openness of Progressive Metal and Progressive Rock. The result is a dark, multilayered release that brings together heaviness and atmosphere as naturally as memorable songwriting and compositional ambition.
Heavy Progressive Metal between manipulation, emotional collapse and dark inner poison
Thematically, “The Forbidden Fruit” brings together four dark new songs and one live bonus track into an intense panorama of anger, humiliation, self-examination and lingering melancholy. Opening track “He Said She Said” immediately draws the listener into an escalating relationship in which rumors, lies, humiliation and obsessive possessiveness spiral out of control. Set at a mid-tempo pace, the song builds a threatening tension that unfolds between dark accessibility and emotional sharpness.
With “Mother Valium”, the EP takes on an even more unsettling tone. The song begins acoustically and at a measured pace before shifting into a forceful, dark progressive metal track. Lyrically, it merges religious façade, family disintegration and suppressed truth into a haunting inner portrait that leaves a lasting impression.
“Spitting Venom” answers with driving aggression and momentum. As an uptempo heavy rock track with a dark sonic core, the song channels rage, alienation and resistance against destructive patterns passed down through family histories and personal fractures. Here, speed, weight and emotional intensity collide in especially direct fashion.
Even more inward-looking is “There’s Not Enough Drugs In The World.” Dark, mournful and carried by an almost resigned heaviness, the song centers on self-medication, painful memory and the bitter realization that some wounds can neither be numbed nor left behind. Where other songs accuse or fight back, this one is marked by deep, sobering melancholy.
Finally, “Neon Lights And Transvestites (Live)” adds a bonus track that injects the EP with additional stage energy while underscoring that TINKICKER’s dramatic musical identity resonates just as powerfully in a live setting as it does in the studio.

FROM “PINK SABBATH” TO A NEW CHAPTER
TINKICKER were founded in 2006 by guitarist Søren Lindberg and drummer/lyricist Klaus Herfort. In vocalist Klaus Bastian, the band found the voice that would give their compositions their distinctive dramatic edge. Right from the beginning, debut album “The Soliloquy Of The Transparent Boy” made it clear that TINKICKER were determined to follow their own path between classic hard rock, progressive ambition and metallic force. This fusion of heavy riffs, narrative density and atmospheric depth earned the band the memorable nickname “Pink Sabbath.”
With “The Playground At The Edge Of The Abyss,” TINKICKER deepened their sound and further sharpened their profile as a band capable of uniting conceptual thinking with hard-hitting rock music. “The Cup Of The Lord And The Wine Of Demons” continued that path, reinforcing the band’s reputation as a distinctive force operating between Hard Rock, Progressive Rock and Metal.
After their back catalog was later made digitally available once again, a new chapter began with the band signing to NRT-Records in 2021. “Mother Valium,” released in 2022, served as the first striking glimpse of this new phase. With “The Forbidden Fruit,” TINKICKER now condense that chapter into a compact, dark and yet highly engaging release that captures the essence of their musical identity: heavy riffs, dark atmosphere, progressive accents and songs with both lyrical and emotional substance.
