  1. Can you tell us a bit about where you come from and how you got started?

2 SEV7N: I come from the Southside of Chicago In little village, Mexican community, but also very dangerous to live in, and be raised in. I started music in 2019, I was going through a lot at the time and I just wanted to express myself somehow and have fun. So my first music video hit 100k+ views known as “Vice City” and from there I just kept chasing the dream.

  1. Do you handle both the songwriting and beats on your songs, or do you collaborate with others?

2 SEV7N: Yes I write all my music, and I have two producers I work closely with, we both work like chemistry. One of my producers made Cardi B’s latest hit “Up”.

  1. Who were your first and strongest musical influences that you can remember?

2 SEV7N: Growing up I was heavily influenced by Three 6 Mafia, 50 Cent, Project Pat, Tommy Wright III, Kid Cudi, Logic, Joyner Lucas

  1. What do you feel are the key elements in your music that should resonate with listeners?

2 SEV7N: I feel like the key elements in my music is that it resonates with crunk music. Heavily inspired by Memphis hip-hop. I have Chicago melody styles as well, but for now I wanna have fun.

  1. How did you come to realize that music was the way forward for you?

2 SEV7N: When my first music video hit 100k+ Views, I knew I knew it was for me, I had to top it and keep aiming for higher numbers.

  1. In what way do you aim to make a difference and be heard?

2 SEV7N: I am young, but I have old school taste. I wanna bring back house, classics and turn into a more club fun hype wave. People know me for making hype rap music.

  1. What do you feel is your strongest skill as a rapper and performer?

2 SEV7N: I think my strongest skill is that no matter what, I am myself. It shows on my music. Being myself will make anything sound good. I am very hyped when it comes to performing. Having the crowd start jumping is my strongest suite.

  1. Could you describe your creative processes? How do usually start, and go about shaping ideas into a completed song? Do you usually start with a beat, or a narrative in your head?

2 SEV7N:  If the beat doesn’t have me starting up a riot in my room, then it’s not hard. I need the beat to satisfy every part of my mood. That’s when the lyrics start rushing to my head.

  1. What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in your life or career so far?

2 SEV7N: Although I have decent numbers and a good fan base I feel like most difficult is finding a label or an indie label that can help me push forward.

  1. On the contrary, what would you consider a successful, proud or significant point in your life or career so far?

2 SEV7N: That in a short 2 years I’ve accumulated 100k+ Views in three music videos and have a strong loyal fan base. They motivate me to keep going.

  1. Putting aside the accolades or criticisms that fans or the media may afford your releases, what’s the one thing about you, or your music, you think people may overlook or misinterpret most often?

2 SEV7N: That I just have fun with it. In Chicago people are not used to crunk, and expect a Chicago sound all the time. But somehow mine works but not 100%. I do a lot of party-hype music.

  1. Who would you most like to collaborate with right now, if you could?

2 SEV7N: Juicy j, Kid Cudi, 6ix9ine, Waka Flocka,

  1. Where do you find most of your artistic inspiration for your songs?

2 SEV7N: I feel like it comes in my flow throughout the song, because it changes on where the beat takes me, even if it’s for 5 seconds.

  1. With social media having a heavy impact on our lives and the music business in general, how do you handle criticism, haters and/or naysayers in general? Is it something you pay attention to, or simply ignore?

2 SEV7N: I don’t pay attention to what gets said. Although there is some weird people making fake YouTube accounts, it’s all funny to me. Wanna be rappers are wishing they were in my space.

  1. Could you tell us something about your latest project and what the highlights are to watch out for?

2 SEV7N: I have a lot of unreleased music videos. With major features such as Lil Cuete, Bo Deal, El Hitta. Also have another project with King Ace. There will be a FiFi pt2. The first one is my most popular song at 140k+ Views.

  1. Do you have a personal favorite track amongst those in your catalog that has a specific backstory and/or message and meaning very special to you on a personal level?

2 SEV7N: My personal track would be FiFi because it’s everything I ever imagined to make a song pop. Hype lyrics, hype beat, hype co-sign in the beginning (Juicy J)

  1. Creative work in studio environment, or interaction with a live audience? Which of these two options excite you most?

2 SEV7N: Creative work in the studio environment, because it gives me the confidence to make new sounds. Every song I learn something about myself and how I could sound for the future songs.

  1. Do you have a favorite motto, phrase or piece of advice, you try to live or inspire yourself by?

2 SEV7N: A quote I came up with is “If they don’t care about you now, give them a reason why they should’ve later” I say this because when I first started almost little to nobody cared about my music, or believed in me. And when I popped up with views etc. it seems like I had friends I never knew about.

  1. How essential do you think video is in relation to your music? Do you have a video you suggest fans see, to get a better understanding of your persona and craft?

2 SEV7N:  It’s very important because it shows who I am, and who I am with. I love the life of party, and that’s what my fan base is going to get. In Chicago we love to get Jiggy

  1. What do you find most rewarding about what you do? And do you have a specific vision or goal set in your mind that you would like to achieve in the near future?

2 SEV7N: What I find most rewarding is that I have the best support/fan base. Very loyal. Most of them are people that I never met. I hope to hit more the mainstream / Hollywood part of rap. I want to get signed ASAP to a major label.
