The Grey Agents return after a five-year hiatus with a new single, “Somebody To Blame.” Lead singer Phil Wyatt says, “We all know people who blame somebody else for all of their problems. This song calls them out on that in sort of a humorous, tongue-in-cheek kind of way.”
“The song has a Tom Petty vibe with the harmony vocals influenced by Motown and The Beach Boys. It’s a fun, mid-tempo rocker. It came together pretty fast and we were done after a few takes,” said new lead guitarist Seth Maynard. “We are excited to have Seth Maynard as our new lead guitarist. Seth played on a couple of songs as a guest on our last album and really added another dimension to the songs.”
“At a party, Phil mentioned how much fun we had making the last album. So I asked around and every band member wanted to get back together,” said guitarist Brian Cottrill. Pianist Davin Seamon says, “It was a blast to get everyone back together again and record new songs.”
“Somebody To Blame” was released to all major streaming services on October 25, 2024. A YouTube video of the band in the studio was released the same day.
