BogglesWorth: “CREEPERZ” spans a range of emotions from playful to downright anthemic

BogglesWorth is an Electronic Music Producer from Southern California. Using digital/analog synths with earth shattering beats, he creates a unique underground sound. Not a fan of genre, he believes music is a form of art, let it stand as it is and be appreciated. This mysterious producer is hard at work cranking out gnarly tunage and bringing originality back to music. Created from obscure and unconventional, fueled by strange, BogglesWorth is bizarre, peculiar, awkward and just a bit weird. From his music to his life, this rebel is always pushing the limit.

Bogglesworth-300trs“CREEPERZ” is an absolutely fantastic EP, and dare I say a defining example in the broad term of ‘electronica’ or any sort of synthesizer driven music. BogglesWorth distances himself from electronic music stereotypes and genres and has succeeded in doing so through the music on this EP.

He delivers a gorgeous production with a wide variety of synths, sounds and effects. The 8 tracks present a very accessible listen, steeped in melody and warmth, which is usually lost in some electronic music. Not so with “CREEPERZ”, as its dripping with heart, soul and curious song titles. Not least, “Delorean Dreams”, “Virtuous Obscenity”, “Tits” or “Astray in an Ashtray”.

On “CREEPERZ”, BogglesWorth doesn’t follow the route of some of his peers with over-complex or grandiose productions – which is a good thing, as this Ep remains more digestible to untrained ears. The tracks span a range of emotions from playful to downright anthemic, while being engaging, interesting, and cleverly made.

BogglesWorth is not afraid to differentiate himself from the usual bass-dropping junkies. However the Ep is not without crowd pleasers. On the contrary, checkout “Insomnia”, “Virtual Obscenity” and “Astray In An Ashtray”.  BogglesWorth’s brilliance helps to underscore everything that is wrong with most electronic producers today, by consistently displaying his ability to create unique music without all the chronic pomposity.

BogglesWorth’s strong points are his drum programming which is impressive as well as his melodies which are always pretty strong. He also has the ability to make one song sound simple, sweet and bare, then the next moment a thickness of sound will engulf and take you into another realm. Simply speaking, BogglesWorth produces a new kind of soundscape – totally contemporary, yet never too gimmicky.

Bogglesworth-400Though I was instantly drawn to the production, electronic timbre, rhythm and melody on “CREEPERZ”, it took me a while to fully appreciate the brilliance and beauty of each song composition. BogglesWorth dabbles in his own roots sound, while still being able to produce refreshing and pleasing-to-the-ear music for a wide variety of electronic music fans!
